On October 26, Scott Olsen’s skull was fractured when the Oakland police hit him with a flashbomb. Following the incident the Occupy Oakland folks conducted a vigil, reflecting on the irony of a soldier who went to Iraq and back only to be hit by his own countrymen. On Thursday morning, a second war vet was injured, the Oakland Tribue reports. Kayvan Sabeghi’s arrest and injuries came on the heels of the #OccupyOakland march to close the port. He was just one of 100 individuals who were arrested in the early hours of Thursday after successfully closing down the Port of Oakland. Sabeghi is recovering from surgery on his spleen after being hit with a police baton, he said.
